My friend tweeted about this umai (delicious) toast she had in Tenjin, Fukuoka.

I was instantly reminded of this super delicious croissant I always have when I go to Hakata, Fukuoka. It's so hard to ignore the temptation when you can smell the croissants from MILES away. I think you can smell it even before you got off the train!

Il Forno del Mignon. Mr Boyfriend and Co. call it roti sedap Hakata.

OMG, the most delicious thing on the planet.

Pictures from here.

It comes in 3 flavours; plain, chocolate and satsumaimo (sweet potato). Of course, I'd always have chocolate. (above picture) Despite not being the hugest fan of croissant, I can take this anytime :)

I wish we have it here in Hiroshima. Pfft. Fukuoka always got the nicest things..

I don't think this shop is big in Japan, but it's definitely going places.

The shop. (Pictures from here.)

Next time you're in Hakata, try look for it. It's easy to spot the shop; the one with the longest queue. Or just follow that delicious smell :)

(Post info courtesy of its biggest fan)

This is why I should never put PurseBlog link on my blog.

I've been in love with this bag for so long, but never really embrace the idea of buying it because :
  • It's so hard to find its stores in Japan
  • Buying a bag online is actually a big no unless the site is trusted
  • Refer to number 1 again
It debuts during Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2009 collection, so it's not exactly new and most of you might have seen it everywhere.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Baby Groovee Satchel.

So, so pretty.

I'm very small so I don't like oversized handbags, and this comes in a regular size and smaller size (above) plus it's versatile, having both the hand held and shoulder strap.  I like the way it represents the classic style and chic at the same time.

Comes in a range of colors too, though I'm pretty sure I'd get the brown one (above) if I ever buy one. Or black.

The MBMJ website. Haha so cute!
Picture from PurseBlog

A few years ago I had my Coach Carly phase; I was so in love I felt the need to have it in my hands in an instant. Well this feels very similar. Kept browsing for a few hours (days, actually) and can't get my mind out of it! This is love.

Personally, I would prefer MBMJ line rather than the Marc Jacobs. Very nice colors, various shapes and types, chic, and most importantly affordable.
Japan doesn't have lots of MBMJ collection; especially its bags. I see the Marc by Marc Jacobs nylon totes everywhere, but not any from the Classic Q line.

Retails for $348 which is around 28500 yen, but it's very expensive here -_- Rakuten has it around 50000 yen, so I'm guessing it'll be more expensive in stores.

I learned not to be easily persuaded and to trust my instincts more, today.

Taking my first step to being green, I decided to sell some of my books I've compiled over nearly 4 years being in Japan - the enormous Amazon boxes under my old bed was solid proof that I can really open a mini library in this house.

And it doesn't help that this afternoon my friend came by and almost fainted when I opened my wardrobe.

"YOU HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF..HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GO BACK FOR GOOD BRINGING ALL THESE?? HOW MANY CONTAINERS ARE YOU GONNA NEED??"

You know, girlfriends can be too blunt sometimes.

So I decided to let go of some of my books, for a start. Clothes and others will come later. (OMG the categorizing, the refolding, the picture taking, the refolding...)

So I went to this one shop recommended by my friend - cause apparently they're big.

Traded these books and magazines and got...210 yen.

210 yen = RM 8.06.

I'm never doing anything without getting a third/fourth opinion ever again.

So yeah, first attempt at being green kinda blew up in my face. If I knew I'd rather give the books to some Reading Club or Books Club etc for free, at least the books are appreciated there!!

210 yen...can't even buy two AA batteries. (cause on the way there I stopped by 7-Eleven to buy some for my bike's lamp, they cost 298 yen)

Lesson learnt.

Am actually thinking of getting the iPhone 4.

I didn't like it at first, I'm really getting bored with my iPhone so getting a new one might be a bad idea. But BlackBerry doesn't have all the addictive apps plus I'm just so used to having my phone as my iPod at the same time. Can't live without it!

The power of iPhone 4 camera.

My nearly 3 year-old iPhone 3G is not as much of use right now; using it every day now is such a pain. Pfft. Sometimes I think it belongs to the drain outside my window.

I wish Apple would give us a new usable upgraded software for old iPhones.

And this iPhone 4 is just so..tempting. Having your boyfriend parading it every single day isn't helping, either.

Should I or shouldn't I? :/

I just got off the phone with my mum, she told me my brother had a minor accident with his motorcycle.

OMG WHY CAN'T ALL LITTLE BROTHERS JUST STAY LITTLE AND NOT GO AROUND SOMEWHERE WITH A BIKE?? OMG WHAT IF HE'S TURNING INTO SOME REMPIT GUY???

He's so lucky I'm not around to kick his butt and crash the bike. Grrr. Oh yeah after got off the phone I spammed his Facebook wall about the accident. There's no way my little brother would get on a bike after this.

Poor him, having 3 older sisters to spam his wall whenever something happens. Hehe.

On another note, I had an awesome weekend last week :) Went to Fukuoka after months of not seeing him; I knew we'd be so busy after this what with the mid term presentation coming up and his lab projects, we'll hardly have time to spend together at least until we're done with the presentation. So we both made time to see each other even if it means I have to spend my Saturday at a futsal match.

See, anything for you. Pfft.

On Sunday we went to Canal City (seriously, nice place, nice decor and nice views) and headed straight to Zara. And I came out of the store with absolutely nothing. Yes, I consider this as an achievement.

Was proudly gloating about my so-called achievement the whole way when we passed this Guess watch store and saw this..

Guess Ladies Jewelry Autograph Watch.
OMG, the most elegant watch I've ever seen. I'm in love with everything about it - the steel case, the shimmering crystals across the face..I fell in love with it in an instant. I'm usually so not a watch person; why a person would spend big bucks on a watch is beyond me. I mean, it's just a watch. That's why I feel sorry for men - they can only show off car/watch/wallet when we girls have so many things we can invest in - like bags. Hehe. Not saying that we should, though.

All my life I only have eyes for Fossil watches because I like simplicity - and Fossil watches pretty much represent everything I want - the vintage look, simple yet sophisticated. I remember my first ever expensive watch is ELLE's, which I bought during a shopping trip we girls have in Form 4; and that was it. Used it for good 2 years, I think.

My last Fossil watch was broken, tried sending it to the store but the only solution is to buy a new one - doesn't surprised me though cause I've used it for 4 years. So this Guess watch came at the right time.

Me : I really should get this watch, can't be found anywhere in Hiroshima, plus I didn't even buy anything from Zara..so this is like a reward for me..my old watch is broken already..
Him : Get the watch, you don't have to justify yourself to me.

Pfft. I truly do not know if it's sarcastic or romantic.

I can safely say I'm over with Guess bags, but the watches are really pretty..you should've seen the whole store.

Went to this ice cream store - Cold Stone, which is pretty big here. We've been coming here since forever; nothing like the ice creams they make, seriously!! They have this unique style of mix matching the ice cream flavors, and they sing while making the ice creams. SERIOUSLY. Customer service top-notch.

Went to this Indian restaurant for dinner and off to the bus station. Hakata Station is officially my favorite and least favorite place all at the same time.

 "It's all about Mohawk, baby."

Got home, found out that my 19-inch monitor decided to betray me, after all these years. IT JUST WON'T TURN ON!! Tried unplugging and plugging the cables, changed the power supply, still no use.

Since I can't go one day without internet, a few hours later I got a new freaking 23-inch LCD monitor. HAHAHA PADAN MUKA KAU BANK ACCOUNT.

Now, if you saw me lurking around the street with just my clothes and bags, please don't call security.

I was in Kyushu last weekend, and managed to go to Oita Futsal Taikai (match) the Malaysian students in this particular region held.

No, I didn't play. THAT would be hystoric.

In fact there weren't any girls from my batch go to the match - I was the only one!! So yeah I was on the bench 500 metres from the field (futsal court?) and basically not knowing anything that goes on at all. Could see the points' board (?) from afar but didn't really know what goes on, who won, who lose..

Should see this coming. Hehe.
But futsal seems so fun, felt like going Gol & Gincu there. I imagined taking pictures after the match; me in heels, trying to kick the ball into the net..but that didn't happened, cause I know he won't let me embarrass him in front of his Fukuoka family and friends like that.

Well, next time. I promise.

Didn't take close-up pictures of them, SO HERE I AM SWALLOWING MY PRIDE STANDING IN FRONT OF YOU SAYING I'M SORRY for not being a good bencher..(get it?? the latest song from Taylor Swift; Back To December. Awesome song!) I know I should've taken lots of pictures of you playing; but didn't get to do it. So sorry. :(

So these are some of the pictures that I managed to take :
No, I was NOT bored.

But the best part of the day :

Guess whose team was "KYUDAI BOYS" ?? Hahahaha okay but "MAWAR" prolly sounds even cuter..hehe.

Too bad there wasn't any girls' team. I've thought of lots of cute names we'd be having when I looked at this board.

He was prolly the happiest man that day; getting to meet his friends and playing futsal and whatnot. Except the fact that his friend's team won.
Penalty
Kumamoto team won!
Dedicated to Neng & Chikorn :)

Still, I had fun :) Thanks to him for 'inviting' me. Haha.

I've been to Gifu Taikai and Hiroshima Taikai so Oita Taikai marks the final taikai I'd ever go here in Japan. Best thing is each taikai represents the place - Gifu is slightly at the north-er part of Japan, Hiroshima is slightly in between north-er part and Kyushu (southern part).

I'm a very complicated person.

A few days ago, my friend asked me "what did you put on your face that makes all your glorious zits and pimples invisible?"

Haha talk about bluntness. True friendships, sigh.

I always have pimples whenever my hormone changes every month; my body gladly hinting me that my hormone system would be a mess for a while. So I dread going out every time it happens, like every other girl (please agree with me on this.) and would always go out of my way searching for the cure.

I can't do anything about the pores and pimples, but I did find a good solution.

I've been using this for months now, and it totally works! The Porefessional by Benefit is sort of like a 'balm' specifies in minimizing the appearance of pores, hence leaving your skin looking smoother than ever.

I have very oily skin, but the lightweight, oil-free texture blends like silk on my skin and lasts the whole day. It leaves my skin feeling so soft which is a miracle, believe me. Still can't hide the mirror-like oily skin of mine though :(

I look like an opera singer. Damn you oily skin.

The texture is light and non-greasy, but you have to be careful when applying - always pat it on your skin, do NOT sweep with your hands. I don't use this like foundation, I just pat it on the pimples/zits area so it'd mellow out their appearances.
And you'll love this if you don't mind spending RM120 for a primer. In my defense, I was in love with Benefit's brilliant packaging so the cute thing really gets to me.

Before using this, I was a faithful user of Revlon Age Defying Concealer.

It's a concealer, but I call it pimples-go-away magic cream. Haha. You can read the reviews on the net, for me this had been my best skin companion ever. But had to look for other solution since my skin color doesn't suit the range anymore. Been using this since my second year in AAJ - wow it's been 4 years already! Revlon should give me a loyal award.

Rakuten doesn't have a wide range of Benefit though, but Revlon is everywhere and cheaper here in Japan. Bought this concealer for 1500 yen, I think.

My phone and I have this on-off relationship; I can play with it religiously for one day and abandon it any second later. If not for its ultimate function to supply me with my iPod dose every day (on the way to school, in between classes, on the way back from school..I can go crazy without my earphone stacked in my jeans' pocket everyday), I might leave it anywhere I want to.

So I've just updated my iTunes and phone a few days ago, and this ALMOST gave me a heart attack :

OMG Zara has a 'Shop Online' feature now??

So sorry, my dear bank account. I feel bad for you, and also my so-called overshopping-reducing program.

But when I opened the app, there's nothing related to 'shop online' or 'your cart' or 'checkout'..I don't know why they would toy with our feelings, now. IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL SHOP ONLINE?? GRRRR. Of course, my boyfriend can breathe again now.

But I have to say, its other new features are awesome. This app is always a dangerous territory for me, cause I'd hop on the bus any second off to the town when I saw anything interesting in the 'new this week' section. Thank God for putting Zara 1-hour away from here.

Zara is always my #1 favorite app.

#2 is, MANGO.

Have you seen the new MNG's Fall/Winter 2010 ad campaign featuring Scarlett Johansson?
Don't bother googling, Scarlett looks even better on iPhone interface, I swear.

But I have to go to freaking Tokyo or Chiba if I want to buy the MNG gorgeous dress Scarlett wore in the ad, which adds another 20,000 yen to be spent for the whole journey. That's why if you're in Malaysia, please be grateful cause I would trade places with you if I could :(

#3 is, Style.com app.

During my third year, I had so many classes that I had to take to get as many credits as I can - so that my final year won't be as hard. Having too many classes can be such a pain, especially when I spent my first and second year listening to iPod in lectures and conveniently have migrains at the end of the sem. So when I was bored in class, I'd read anything unrelated to studying - and this app had really come in handy.

You can watch runway videos, runway pictures and fashion blogs of what's new in town, all in one app. I remember showing Juicy Couture pictures to my Japanese friend, and she didn't even know the brand.

My #4 favorite app is, of course, iBags.

This is where I learned and remembered all my favorite bags' name. And it comes in handy too, when you know the name of the bags, it'd make the whole googling thing easier.

I know these are all girly apps, so guys, sod off. Hehe.

In the spirit of fighting my 'addiction', I decided to get my ass off the chair and house and go out today.

It's perfect timing, since I don't feel like cooking and need to do grocery shopping.

Suddenly craving for its famous garlic bread, so I went to this Italian food restaurant, Amare.

Very, very nice motorcycles on display outside. I wonder where did they get so much money buying all the big bikes just for display..

We've been going to this restaurant since forever, but dreading it cause we always had to wait like an hour since it's always full..but today I discovered they've opened bigger area! YAY no more waiting :D

The service there is also good, the waitress even asked me if I want vegetarian menu and no meat. Thank God they have a wide selection of seafood dishes.

Superb interior design. Actually this is just the area where I was, there's another larger part for party and groups.

The infamous garlic bread. OMG I can't get enough of them everytime.

Salmon with spinach tomato sauce spagetti.

Had a great time enjoying the food, BUT the spagetti was just too much for me to finish. I already made this long mental list of ordering the tuna and cheese seafood pizza, one big jar of ice cream..sighh..what a waste.

Next time, no spagetti. Spagetti makes me full in 5 minutes, grr.

The waiting area.

Went grocery shopping, and got home earlier than expected. Amare is just in walking distance from my home, so getting there is easy. Will take you there if you come here to Hiroshima :)

Next stop, Japanese food. Maybe.
