Posts about: scrapping stuff
During childhood, I used to keep a journal which I wrote about the boys I had crushes on. I had several thick notebooks now safely kept from my husband (haha). Then I was introduced to Friendster, and I learned the concept of blogging - basically doing journals online. I did not have any prospects of anyone reading (I just did not realise people would want to read anything I wrote). That was it, I suddenly switched my journaling method to blogging, and never looked back since. (except the Happy Planner phase, but that was more scrapbooking)
Hence this blog.
I think I'm having a lot of fun doing my Happy Planner, that blogging has become my second priority.
(One of the dreaded things, doing hands-on stuff? You can't undo your writing T.T I misspelled the Mitsui Outlet, of all things.)
So that was my last week.
Granted, I admit it's pretty tough prioritizing planning, doing laundry, handling my baby and household all at the same time - my friends were curious at how I slot my time doing this planning thing haha.
Finally got around to do this post.
One of the hobbies I've abandoned over the years, is doing journals. I kept a few during my foundation program till uni years, ones that have doodles of hearts and little people on them - but as years gone by, I've completely forgotten about them.
Must be splattered around the house, I think.
Wanted to order a picture canvas of him and Rayyan, with a few cheesy words on it - but after some research, I realize canvas could take some time to finish; the design, sketch, everything - and it wasn't like I had the time to wait for it.
(I only started my research on it a week before Father's Day T.T)
So.. I resorted to this scrapbooking I haven't done in a while.
Last few days, I became an aunt to a wonderful baby boy.
On the day my sister gave birth (got real-time whatsapp updates from le Mum when my sister was in labour room), I rushed to the hospital after work to see her but it was 10 minutes past visiting hours and the scary nurses won't let me in. So I asked the brother in law to give her this scrap page I did, so that she has something to look at on her bedside table and be reminded of how beautiful she is. (hopefully pregnancy hormones worn out by then)
Since I started scrapping, I've only ever done it for the fiancé back when we were dating; I don't know why. To me, scrapbooks and scrap pages are something intimate that you would only do for someone who mean a lot to you; who you don't mind spending all the efforts and time and brain for because it's definitely hard work and expensive. Doing it for him was not hard because usually it's for special occasion and it's not like they're something he's never heard of before (ahem) so writing my thoughts and choosing the photos came naturally.
So I'm glad I finally get to do it for my sister, cause she deserves it.
Him : So we drove all the way here just so you could give this thing to her?
Me : Um hello, of course.
Went to see the baby boy yesterday and already missing him. Can't believe my sister is a mummy now.
