our first housewarming

The girls haven't been to our new apartment (the one we rent at the moment, until we can officially move into the new place yay) yet, and they won't shut up about it.
"Where's our next venue for brunch?"
"Atil's house lah mana lagi"
"...but I'm too tired to cook for you guys"
"Nvm, we're not picky. Can order food"
See, such nice thoughtful friends I have. Haha.

Nevertheless, I didn't mind though - we've been married for 8 months now, about time to invite guests to our house!

(Besides family, of course.)

So..I started thinking about food. What shall I cook? (Can't believe I was that naive to think I'd cook for almost 10 pax) I was thinking of something simple but good for guests, so there were a few menus in the list - spaghetti and meatballs or nasi ayam (that's it, haha). Then I thought of my husband's nasi goreng cina he used to make back in Japan.

Which he, of course, was reluctant to add to the menu.

As the day of the gathering grew nearer, the husband suddenly told me he's inviting some of his friends from high school.
"So that I won't be bored when you girls gossipping"
WTF. I can't cook for more than 10 people, for goodness sake!

So we had to revise..and the husband took a pity on me for being pregnant and all, and we decided to order from an Arabian restaurant near our house.

Problem solved.

So we had nasi arab, chicken briyani, lamb, beef and some veggies Arabian style.

Feeling like something was missing, I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs anyway. No dessert cause I told the girls to bring anything they want for dessert HAHA.

The girls + spouses + 1 kid. Pekah was pointing to my bump, which she just met for the first time. And Fiqah was just..randomly holding a milk bottle belonging to Pekah's baby.

Jannah brought sushi from Kampachi, and the only food that made it to Instagram.

There were no board games - we just hang out talking and pausing for meals and desserts and group selfies, while the boys talked about work and cars. Occasionally they'd pause to ask for the spaghetti and meatballs ahem.

Had fun entertaining the guests. Round 1 of housewarming successfully completed! I think the spaghetti and meatballs menu trend will continue for quite a while XD
