Right before last weekend kicked in, I received a grave news from my Mum - our house was broken into, and things were missing. Not to mention a broken back door with broken grills.

That happened in a pace of not even a week - the Saturday before that, someone broke into our house but my Mum and Lil Brother got home in time. As soon as Lil Bro got out of the car, he saw someone burst through the broken back door and off to the back lawn. His laptop and his backpack were missing. And 5 days later, the same thing happened again, and this time they managed to have a "tour" inside the house.

I am beyond pissed. The fact that it was a brand new laptop for Lil Bro since he started college, and his backpack contained all the school work and assignments and his student ID means he would have to deal with his college admin for the matter; drives me beyond mad. WHO WOULD BLOODY TAKE A KID'S ASSIGNMENT?

Laptop, I get. Jewelries, I get. Cash, I get. But I hate the fact that my Lil Bro had to go through all that.

For my Mum, she was calm but I know she's worried. She had to do police report, so police came to our house to take fingerprints "as a standard procedure" - but till now, we haven't received any (tolerably) good news. At all.

I am beyond disappointed.

But like my Mum said, "it's just not our rezeki". And deep down, I agree - however much I really hate the thief(s), I know I need to let it go. So I went home last weekend just so I could see for myself what happened and be at peace.

So we've fixed the back door, fixed the grill, changed the house keys. If it were my way, I'd have cameras installed - but my Mum said it's ridiculous lol. We have this big family farm behind our house - my Uncle actually owns it, and he planted all sorts of fruits, so it'd be kinda weird seeing them around our house in that camera.

But good news is, they didn't take my handbags!!! HAHAHA lol obviously these are stupid guys; when I went to my room, my most expensive bag was right on top of my drawer and guess what's missing? My over 5-year old MP3. Really. If you want to steal things to sell, at least do your homework first.

But really, I'm just thankful nothing happened to my family. No one was hurt, and that was good news enough for me. Though those police officers back in my neighborhood are going to love what I'm gonna write to NST.

*inhale, exhale*

Having said that, I pay extra attention to things now. Even when I'm back to my rented apartment, I'm being extra careful of where I put my things, the apartment door, the lock. I brought all most of my handbags to my apartment just so they're where I know is safe. Keeping loads of cash at home isn't a good idea either.

Really, you can't leave things to chance nowadays; what with all the horrible cases we read in newspapers in malls, etc. Thinking of going to the mall alone freaks me out now. Please be careful, girls.

But I'm glad I went home last weekend, because of this girl.

HAHA I love this shot.

She's growing up so fast now!! She knows when her Mum isn't around and she'll cry (loudly..), she knows when we're about to go out and she'll cry to make us take her along, she knows I'll lock my room door whenever she's around cause she really likes to play on my bed and mess it up. Pfftt.

But really, who has the heart to say no when her face was like that?? *points upwards* Sheesh.

Since I started working, I realized my reading habit had totally gone down the hill.
It's all because I didn't really have time to go look for books at Kinokuniya or MPH, let alone reading a book. So to compensate, I tried reading the articles (you know, real articles) in magazines but deep down I knew that won't do.

So I started looking for books that worth my time to read. The boyfriend told me to read "Game of Thrones", "The Hobbit", etc..err seriously, do you know me at all??!

Pfft.

(But after doing my research on the internet I found that those books are actually under the best sellers one. Not bad, my guy.)

I even consulted my colleague about it. She's a walking library, I swear.

Had to hide the fact that I've read all books by Sophie Kinsella, I mean, this colleague of mine doesn't have to know. Just because. But I have a feeling she does.

So I started hunting for good books to read during my not-so-free time. And I just found out that we are allowed to borrow ALL BOOKS FROM OTHER OPU'S LIBRARY!!

I mean, my office has its own resource centre, but the books are all about engineering, petroleum, natural gas engineering and what nots; surely doesn't fit in my "leisure books" category. So I went online to look for books they have in UTP (the biggest resource centre for us), and borrowed these.

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Ines of My Soul by Isabel Allende
The Sound and The Fury by William Faulkner
The Selected Essays of Gore Vidal

Am so excited to finish these so I can borrow other books in my list. Or at least, in Rory Gilmore's Books List. If you knew me, you'd know I've been watching the series my whole life so I guess it's time for me to actually know what they're talking about.

Gotta keep those magazines and Audrey Hepburn flip book (apparently it doesn't count pfft) in my closet now.

We have this thing we always do in the office together, and every one of us really love it; deciding where to go to lunch and the lunch occasion itself!

Well except when work is reallyy mounting up on our table and we had to tapau from cafe and eat at our table - sad but true. And there were times when I really enjoy it!

But considering Ramadan is coming, we decided to have our last lunch at San Francisco Bangi last Friday.

Mine, Ireland Chicken. Good but too spicy for my tastebud.

One of us suggested playing this game where everyone would put their cellphones (smartphones) at the center and the first person to touch their phones would lose. For the sake of communication.

And soon, all of us were focusing on the TV near our table and started criticising the host' outfit, sunglasses, sundress ("why is she wearing an apron while shopping for groceries??" HAHA epic.) and basically everything about her, including her hair. For us, she's really not a good choice for a cooking channel show host, but ask us again after we've reunited with our phones. Hehe.

 Chicken-something.

 Beef steak.

Verdict : so overrated. We went there during lunch peak hours, and the waitresses were so slow, the food came late and NOT as good as they seem. Would rather go to somewhere else for a good steak.

But the company we had was awesome. Should play the putting phones at the center of table game more after this. Oh wait, it's Ramadan already so no lunch.

But for berbuka, I don't think we need phones with the delish food served in front of us after a whole day of fasting. I'd eat MY phone, if I could.

I'm so lazy to blog now that I'd rather blog from my phone than powering up my desktop browser -____-

But I just HAVE to share this.

My housemate got a bunny!

I swear it's the cutest thing ever. I've always had an eye on cats and kittens, but I didn't really think of rabbits as pets. Because I used to have a neighbour who kept rabbits at his house and they stink.

But this lil guy sure doesn't stink. Or maybe at a tolerable rate.

This is us, trying to blow dry the lil guy after his first bath. Poor guy couldn't be bothered to defend himself.

Leather Gladiator Flat Sandal, asos.com

I really don't get how girls can wear these gladiators sandals out and about.

Forgive me for being blunt, but they're just such a hassle I don't ever want to waste my money on them.

Was browsing asos.com and I realized the gladiators have been in the magazines for years now; when will the trend pass??

Would rather have this instead. So much prettier.
 Satin Sandal with Gems, asos.com

I used to have this black heels that look a lot like a gladiator, with the zipper in the middle and everything - except that it wasn't a flat sandal. Wore them during one of our trips to Universal Studios Japan a few years ago; it was comfy! Imagine taking roller coasters at the park and whatnots in those heels haha. But had to resort to flats by the end of the day anyway.

I wore the heels so much it worn out so I had to let it go :( even my Mum noticed that I don't wear it anymore. "mana heels yang rocker sikit tu??" Lol.

So when I found similar heels (but the old one was much better sobs) I quickly grabbed it.

It's much simpler than my old one, but this would do. For now. At least I don't have to wear the same shoes anymore - yep, I've been wearing the same shoes to work everyday it's sad.

Ok just wanna share with you the awesome food I had last weekend.

(you know you don't deserve the blogger title when you blog about last weekend on the next weekend's Saturday.)

Ok this isn't mine, I'm cheating here. This is Vern's salmon, and according to her the salmon is a bit overcooked. But it looks so good nonetheless! I'm a sucker for the exterior, I just realized. Hehe.

Fried chicken chop.

Banana strawberry drink.

Grilled chicken chop!! Drools. I tried to gobble down the veggies (considering I'm sure each of them worth as much as the chicken itself) but I'm no true believer of green healthy things, Vern helped me finished some of them. I foresee a lot of being-healthy-lectures from her at the office from now on.

We had these at The Garden, Alamanda. I swear, it's my official favorite dine place now. Check out the interior of the place!

I love all the furnitures, I feel like going up to the waiters and ask him where they get them from. So vintage, I love.

And I'm proud to announce that I finally get to cook dinner after work sometime last week! Usually by the time I reach home it'd be so late already to cook dinner so I'd rather buy, but I just miss cooking so much. Those days in Japan were definitely the most memorable phase in my life; and I started learning to cook by myself there. Regardless whether my housemate likes the dishes or not. Hehe.

Ok fineee it's a simple dish, but proper enough for me. Some days I even have burgers for dinner ok? Welcome to working life.

And latest update : I've developed a chocolate phase now, I'm so scared for my thigh. And belly. I think it's all because of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter, I smell like chocolate all the time!

Or maybe it's just the time of the month.

I followed my colleague today to look at properties she had her eyes on; she's been looking at houses and condos since last few months and this is basically my first time visiting the real-estate office.

My goodness, if I knew property hunting is this FUN, I'd have started it months ago.

Well maybe not since I've just started work..but still.

I fell in love with property we looked at today at the first glance. I saw the ad, I saw the price (of course, the first thing you should check), I saw the neighborhood, I saw the facilities in the property (it's a condominium), I saw the freaking infinity pool.

OMG, I can see myself swimming in that freaking big pool already.

And it doesn't help that the showroom is so nice you ended up asking the agent where on earth did they get all the furnitures from.
Until my colleague showed me the price again, and the Earth called me back.

I know even how much the property amazed me, I still have to consider the finance first. Whether I can see myself paying the deposit first or not. Whether I can wait 4 years for the construction to finish or not. Whether I can live in the residence area or not. Whether I can see myself committed to paying a load of money on that property or not.

Of course, there's also the Mr. to think about. Sheesh.

We've discussed about it before, but I realized there are so many things to be taken into perspective other than just the two of us - the traffic, the townhood, safety of the environment, and so on. I fell in love with the property so much I feel like paying the real-estate agent the booking money already - but deep down logic-wise, I know I still have so many things to think about.

People can pressure you to buy property like RIGHT NOW (bet you hear it all the time) - "buy now while it's still cheap!" "the price will be double 2 years from now, you know, and 2 years is not that long" - but it's you who are going to live with it for the rest of your life.

So be careful. Discuss with those important to you; and don't just look at one area, open your perspective to other areas too. Picture yourself living in it (which I find not really helpful in my case, I can totally picture it damnit! Now I'm going to see it even in my dreams.) and last but most importantly, think of it financial-wise; would it be worth it?

I'd be contented with just this in my new house, thanks.

The property even have jacuzzi and sky lounge, for God's sake. OF COURSE freaking worth it.

Having breakfast at MAEPS with housemates and housemates' friends :

"This nasi lemak is so good!!"
"My boss sucks..so much..I hate him..everyone hates him"
"I don't feel so good.."
"Where's the waiter, who bloody took my chair??"

Later, in the car on the way home :

"Don't know what to do today..boringg.."
"Hey guys, wanna go to Malacca???"

And that's how we came to the decision of spending last Saturday touring Malacca. Hehe.

It's been years since I last saw Malacca, and it's ridiculous cause it's my favorite city. I love the historic sites, I love the food, I love the tourist scenes, I love the souvenir shops!

 Meet, the housemates :)

On top of Taming Sari Tower

 Overlooking the Straits of Malacca.

We even managed to stay till night and experience the famous Jonker Walk. Which I preferably won't ever want to experience again without having able to drag someone along to carry me on his back cause my feet have never been so tired.

There were so many people in this restaurant, I wonder why.

And the highlight of the trip.
That's right. Malacca has a HRC now!! I never thought I'd be at any HRC other than Japan's. Tokyo, Yokohama, Seoul, Fukuoka, MELAKA!

We went in just to peek at the T-shirts. Yep, they were authentic.

But apparently the cafe is still in construction, so they only have the shop at the moment. The shop assistants were really nice though (and stylish!) we even got a few coupons for 10-20% discount the next time we shop at HRC :)

Good enough to make me smile that night.

Jonker Walk was nice, but definitely not a scene for me. I felt like I was suffocated with all the smokes, the air, the bright lights - well maybe part of it was because I wasn't feeling so well that night. But of course, you can find super great deals there; if you're into cutesy things and souvenirs. And there's also this shop selling clothes and things from Korea!

And I found Hello Kitty glasses.

Don't worry, I didn't buy it. Hehe.
