The fashion blogosphere has been buzzing about the famous Alexander McQueen's latest creations.

I won't lie. I HATE THOSE HEELS.

They're ugly, scary-looking, make you look like your ancestors are aliens, not to mention impractical.

I don't care if they're on Lady Gaga's Bad Romance video, she's probably the only woman who can actually pull it off. Or not.

Blergh. This is where I drew the line in the heels department.

In three days, I'll have to decide on which lab I'm going to pursue my final year in. Emphasizing on which course of chemical engineering I'm going to specify into, which means which field of engineering I'm (most likely) going to work in.

I have absolutely no idea.

This is truly a middle age crisis, and I'm not even 25 yet.
Damnit.

I don't want to blindly choose the lab everyone goes; or the lab that has the most popularity; or the lab that has the cute senpais; or the lab that has the kindest sensei. Because I know sooner or later I'm going to regret that.
But I don't know which one I'm supposed to set my target to. Heck, I don't even know which subject I'm good in.
How did these people do this??!! Pfft.

At the moment I do have certain labs I've set my eyes on, but I don't really know the reason. It can be because the senseis are kind or it's the one everyone's not going to go so it has the less competition..I don't know.

I have three days to figure this out..THREE days and I'm going to decide on something that'll change my whole final year

If you happen to have any opinion on what I should major in, kindly leave an email :) Or if you're heading for the same lab/course..it'd be nice if you can tell me what it's about, etc. Friends or not, I really need a third party's opinion.. Thanks :)

My current choices :

1) 微粒子工学研究室 - Particle Technology Laboratory (I like particles, I like atomic force microscope, I know a bit about nuclear..and the senseis are nice. Oh the senpais are the kindest too)
2) グリーンプロセス工学研究室 - Environmental Engineering Laboratory (I like nature. The sensei is my tutor from the first year, but I don't really know much about the lab..)
3) 化工熱力学研究室 - Thermodynamics for Chemical Engineering Laboratory (I like the subject, but not really friendly with the senseis..scared of them, in fact. But love the subject -_- )

You know, being an engineer is not that easy.

So while I was looking for some background of my course, you know, something to back me up on the decision-making since I'm not really good at it; I googled something about engineer on the net, and look what I found..not the most romantic thing ever but who cares :)

10 Good Reasons for You to Date and Marry an Engineer

1. The world does not revolve around us. We choose the coordinate system.
2. No "couple" could enjoy a better "moment."
3. We know how to handle stress and strain in a relationship.
4. We have significant figures.
5. EK 301: The motion of rigid bodies.
6. Projectile motion: Need we say more?
7. Engineers do it to specifications.
8. According to Newton, if two bodies interact, the forces are equal and opposite.
9. We know it's not the length of the vector that counts, but how you apply the force.
10. We know the right hand rule.

Engineering Pick-Up Lines

1. I won't stop bugging you until I get the address of your home page.
2. You fascinate me more than the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
3. Since distance equals velocity times time, let's let velocity and time approach infinity, because I want to go all the way with you.
4. My love for you is like a concave up function because it is always increasing.
5. Let's convert our potential energy to kinetic energy.
6. Wanna come back to my room?... and see my 300mHz Pentium II?
7. How about me and you go back to my place and form a covalent bond?
8. You and I would add up better than a Riemann sum.
9. You're sweeter than fructose.
10. We're as compatible as two similar Power Macintoshes.
11. Why don't we measure the coefficient of static friction between me and you?
12. Wanna see the programs in my HP?
13. Your body has the nicest arc length I've ever seen.
14. You're hotter than a bunsen burner set to full power!
15. I'd like to browse through your clothes like I browse through Netscape.
16. Hey baby, let's make a stress-strain curve together.

And last but not least, I'll leave you with this engineering's quote :)
"Engineers aren't boring people, we just get excited over boring things."
--Anon.

Yesterday we hosted the annual Soubetsukai (Farewell Party) for our 4th year students who've just graduated from Hiroshima University and completed their degree.

So CONGRATULATIONS!!! Bear in mind you're so lucky you are now free from Japan's ridiculous academic system. Hehe. If my lecturers are reading this I'm so dead.

The ceremony was supposed to start at 4.30 pm, but Malaysians take no words as it is so we only managed to get everyone on their seat by 5.30 pm. Yess an hour late. I'm never underestimating Japan's work ethic ever again.

The ceremony was nice :) Though it felt weird being the one not being all busy monitoring the ceremony like previous years. Indicating yeah we're now the third year students so it's not our job anymore. It felt weird. But the 2nd years; Sarah, Adi, Norita, Adi, Nazu and Mun did well :) So proud of you!

1st years, 2nd years, 3rd years..I feel so old :-/

Speech from the PMH's President

Everything about yesterday was nice, except the fact that I went home and had a fever. Pffft. And the headache, swelling throat and running nose are still here till now. NICE.

If you know me you'd know how much I love Victoria Beckham.
Seriously, you look at her and you think OMG she has everything every girl on the planet wants..the wealth, the status, the looks, the marriage, the husband, the adorable kids, her own line, the icon symbol, the wardrobe, the fashion sense. Everything.
And the ultimate - the gorgeous football player husband.
She made the rest of us feel so inadequate. Sigh. Or is it just me??

So I read one of her interviews on Details - on how men should be dressed, according to her. Considering how much fashion world is intimated by her waves of style, I think you guys should take a look at what she has to say.

10 Rules of Man Style From Victoria Beckham

1.
Style isn’t about money. One of the nicest outfits on a man is a pair of jeans, some old, messed-up boots, a simple white tee, and a vintage leather belt. You don’t have to spend a lot. It’s about mixing and matching and getting things that fit properly.

2.
Men who wear skinny jeans won’t be wearing my jeans. I don’t think jeans should be tight around their bollocks. I don’t want to see that part of a guy’s anatomy all squashed in.

3.
What to wear on a first date is a tricky one. You don’t want to be too dressed up or not dressed up enough. It totally depends where you’re going. Wear something you’re comfortable in, because you’re going to be slightly nervous.

4.
I don’t mind a vintage T-shirt with a logo on it that’s tongue-in-cheek. But if a man were to just have a huge logo on his chest, no. I think that’s very unattractive.

5.
It’s romantic when a guy makes an effort. For our anniversary recently, David had all these beautiful flowers placed in our garden and he had someone come in and cook and he had nice music playing. We put the kids to bed and then we spent the night together, just talking in front of the fire.

6.
Boys don’t have nearly as much fun with fashion as girls do.

7.
I think a man always has to look clean, to start. And obviously he has to smell nice. Grooming is really important.

8.
You have to be very careful when you start dyeing your hair. I can’t bear it when men start to lose their hair color and they give it a rinse—blue, black, purple.

9.
I really don’t like it when guys wear tight tops—like those cycling-looking, Lance Armstrong-inspired ones—trying to show off muscles and the fact that they’ve been at the gym a lot.

10.
It’s cool for a woman to look like she cares, but I don’t think it’s as cool for a man to look like he’s spent hours in front of the mirror. A man that doesn’t try too hard to look good is sexy.

Personally, I agree with everything she says. Above all things, a man has to look clean first. Because it doesn't matter if you're wearing the most expensive suit or the coolest shirt on earth, if we (girls) can see your nostrils hair from miles away or your shoes looks like it hasn't been cleaned from the last 3 years, it's a real turn-off.

And I like no. 10 the most :) Couldn't agree more.

Done with exams today :) And am the happiest girl on earth!!

I don't remember being so happy finishing my papers, ever. Maybe because this is the last finals I have before going into 4th year.

OMG. 4th year.
Let's not talk about it yet. :-/

Anyway, that means I have to do the one thing I always do after finals (because we have, like, 1 and a half month of freedom and late night stuffs and waking up at noon..NGAHAHA) - things I have need want to do after finals.

Umm..I don't really know where to start. Next entry, maybe. :D

Next week I have 4 finals coming up..explains why this blog is practically dead since last week. Hehe.

I'm so not the right person to blog about this stress thing, because I'm a basket case every time I have finals. You can ask my boyfriend or my housemate about this, I can scare everyone away. He knows better not to mess with me during exam week.

But it'd be nice if we can apply these in our daily basis.
This should be my next year's new year resolutions.
