Jua's baby shower

Last few weeks, Mimi (bff of Jua) invited me to the most important social event in a mommyhood calendar..

Jua’s baby shower!

In case you didn’t know, baby showers are usually thrown to the first-timer mothers (I don’t know why I call it that, let’s rephrase when I can get my brain functioning) to celebrate their first time bearing kids. Oh and celebrate their first newborns too, regardless the fact that the kid isn’t even born yet.

When I was pregnant with Rayyan, most of my closest friends were pregnant too. So we were all kind of too high on hormones and too exhausted from the baby weight to even think about throwing each other’s showers..

Hence we didn’t have any.

This time, Jua’s pregnant for the first time and we have a reason to celebrate! Mimi being the mother of one and non-pregnant took up the task and organized the saga.

It was held at Majestic Hotel (my favourite hotel like ever?) and we were surrounded with beautiful flowers and pictures of unicorns, supposedly the theme of the do.

So this was the plan. Jua spent her anniversary cum birthday weekend there, so Mimi asked Jua’s other half, Nuwa to lead her to the café where the shower was held. It was a surprise so she didn’t know a single thing, but she said she was getting suspicious when Nuwa ajak her to “check out” the café before they go home even though they just had a big and heavy breakfast earlier that day (it was noon).

When she saw us sitting at the table with big balloons and pretty flowers on the table, she was like WTF.

Didn’t help that Nuwa also forgot to persuade to wear pastel colors that day (shower’s theme) and she ended up wearing grey and yellow T.T

The whole do was done by @eventsbyazzwaa and it turned out so good!

Jua's having a baby girl, so we have the 'It's a girl!' unicorn theme for the event.

Dessert brought by Odah, which was so good the price doesn't even justify (a whole box of this brownies cost RM50 WTF)

After food and girly chit chats, we adjourned to the outside for customary camwhoring.

Nuwa became our official photographer that day. #whathusbandsarefor

The funny thing was, 4 of us are actually pregnant XD so it became our own celebration haha. Other fun facts shared that day include mine and Jua's due date being on the same day, how our plans to bring our kids to the event failed miserably except for Mimi who brought the ever charming and well-behaved Sulaiman (I thank God I decided not to bring Rayyan or else I'd have to run around the hotel chasing him while the girls had their food) and how everyone's so keen on the event to be featured on NST soon because Amal's now a column writer for the paper.

But the biggest fun fact..

Jua's about to become a mother!

Sometimes I still can't believe the girl I've known since high school, known her best throughout AAJ and Nihon is now becoming a mother.

Congratulations Jua and Nuwa, and welcome to parenthood (yay can send our kids for playdates now!)

P/S: I received a lot of feedback/concerns on my previous post, so thank you guys for your warm wishes :) Totally fine now, been reading a lot to try to cope with motherhood hehe. Downtime is inevitable sometimes and I think the crying did me a lot of good, so if you're having a bad time, just let it out. I'm glad I did.

  1. Hi would you mind letting me know which webhost you're utilizing?

I've loaded your blog in 3 completely different
internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most.
Can you suggest a good hosting provider at a fair price?

    Many thanks, I appreciate it!

    1. Hi there!

I'm using GoDaddy for my blog :) But I'm not sure if it's the cheapest out there. I've had no problem since started using it a few years ago. My friend suggested it so I didn't do any kind of price comparison..sorry!
